Make strides for cancer care

Join us for our sponsored walk, Stride for Cancer Care, on Sunday 4 October and support world class care at the Royal Surrey Cancer Centre. Every penny or pound you raise will make a huge difference to people living with cancer – now, and in the future.

The atmosphere on the day was buzzing and the weather was on our side too! It was our first time attending and we found that the event was phenomenally planned and all the staff were brilliant and had infectious energy. - Fariha and Maahia completed the 10K route.

About the event
The routes head out from Royal Surrey Cancer Centre, where you'll walk along some beautiful trails in Guildford. You'll take in the views from the Hog's Back and North Downs Way, before heading back over the A3 to cross the finish line back at the Cancer Centre.

The routes are well marked and there will be water and aid stations placed at approximately half way around each route, providing hot and cold drinks, and snacks. There is a 5km, 10km, 15km and 25km route.

All you have to do is put one foot in front of the other, and we'll take care of the rest.

Why take part?
Officially opened by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth in 1997, St Luke’s treated around 2,500 patients in its first year. Today, Royal Surrey Cancer Centre typically conducts over 60,000 outpatient appointments a year and our wonderful staff continue to offer incredible care to every individual who comes through our doors.
I am very grateful to the team at the Royal Surrey for such an amazing treatment for breast cancer. Now, Dan and I want to do our bit to ensure others get the same experience. My participation in the walk was a small attempt to give back and help others to have great care too. - Jenny completed the 25K route with husband, Dan

We want to make sure the centre is here for people living with cancer for years to come. There is so much more we can do to ensure you have access to exceptional care – but we need your help.

Every penny and pound you raise will make a huge difference to so many lives affected by cancer – funding lifesaving equipment and innovative treatments, supporting staff wellbeing so they can continue to give the very best care, and enhancing the centre to make it more comfortable and welcoming for all our patients.

Who will you make strides for?

Rally family and friends, choose a distance to suit you (5km, 10km, 15km, 25km), and get walking to support the future of cancer care.
