Virtual Challenges and Events
Our Virtual Challenges are a fantastic way to keep yourself fit, motivate you to get outside, and keep yourself healthy.
We run a number of events ourselves and also host challenges on behalf of other charities and event organisers.
Join one of our challenges today!
We have 6 distances to choose from based upon some of our most popular trails in the UK:
100km - London To Brighton
135km - Hadrians Wall
305km - The Coast to Coast
431km - the Pennine Way
1,010km - the South West Coast Path
1,400km - John O'Groats to Land's End (JoGLE)
You choose when you want to start your challenge and how many days you want to take to complete. There's a simple calendar tool available to each event page that will tell you how many kilometers you will need to average per day to hit your goal.
Virtual Challenges are by their nature more environmentally-friendly than real-world events. You don't need to travel, there are no disposable plastic cups and plates and we aren't
We offer custom medals for completers made from sustainable 100% aluminium which can be endlessly recycled. We also send you one of our special Climate Stripes bandanas.
If you want to be even more sustainable you can instead opt to have us order a tree for you from Trees Not Tees - they will plant a native species tree in their managed forests in Scotland.
Tracking Your Progress
You progress is displayed on our live map along with all your fellow participants. Each of them is likely to have chosen different start and finish dates so it's not a race, but reflects our individual journeys on the real trail.
if you want you can customise your marker on the trail by changing your profile photo in your UltraBritain account.
You can leave photos and comments as you go to record your adventure and you are able to see and comment on others' photos.
You will receive a weekly email showing how far you have reached and how many km you have to go along with other stats, and when you reach halfway we'll send you out a real postcard featuring a scene from the trail to mark your achievement.
Take Part as a Team
You don't need to go it alone! Bring your friends and family along and everyone's activities will combine to reach your goal.
Logging Your Activities
It's super easy to record your activities.
If you have Strava, Garmin or Fitbit you can connect them to the challenge with one click. We will then automatically collect any valid activities and add them to your record.
If you don't have any of these, you can record your distance manually in seconds - simply click the date and enter the distance - that's all there is to it.
